Right after Apple revealed iOS 16.1 Beta 3 , it decided to release the public beta for more users to try. Along with the new version, it brings with it new tweaks that Apple is working on, as well as the features announced at the WWDC 2022 event.
More iPhone models get battery percentage on home screen
In addition to iOS 16.1 public beta 3 , the US technology giant also showcases iPadOS 16.1 public beta 4, watchOS 9.1 public beta 3, tvOS 16.1 public beta 3, HomePod 16.1 public beta 3 and macOS Ventura 13 public beta 7 .
What's new with iOS 16.1:
- Live Events: Live Events helps you stay up to date with what's going on in real time right from your lock screen.
- Live Events API: You can follow an ongoing sports game, monitor the progress of your ride or easily place an order. You can browse Live Events from your favorite third-party apps with the new developer API.
- Apple Wallet app can be deleted: OS 16.1 now allows users to delete Wallet app for the first time. Let us remind you that when you delete the Wallet application, you will not be able to use a number of different features, including Apple Pay, Apple Cash and Apple Card.
- Matter support: Matter stands out as a new smart home connectivity system that will enable compatible accessories to work together seamlessly across platforms.
- iCloud Shared Photo Library: Photos brings a separate iCloud library that up to six users can share, contribute, and view. Users will be able to choose to share existing photos from their personal library or share them by a start date or people in the photos.
- Clean Energy Charging: Clean Energy Charging aims to reduce the iPhone's carbon footprint by optimizing charging times for when the grid uses cleaner energy sources.
- Battery percentage for more iPhones: After the first late launch in the iOS 16 beta cycle, the battery percentage icon is now available on iPhone X R, iPhone 11, iPhone 12 mini andIt can also be used on iPhone 13 mini.
- With iOS 16.1 Beta 3 , Apple will now allow you to switch between sets of wallpaper in Setting apps and more iPad Pro models can use Stage Manager . In the coming days, Apple plans to make the system more stable with new updates .
