In a move set to make shopping even more convenient, Target has introduced CarPlay integration to its app, allowing customers to manage Drive Up and Pickup orders straight from their car’s dashboard. This makes Target the first retailer to incorporate CarPlay for curbside pickups, enhancing the shopping experience for customers on the go.

The new feature, launched on Thursday, allows users to place a Drive Up or Pickup order via the Target app and access all essential details through CarPlay once connected. Shoppers can then view the Target store where the purchase was made, get directions via Apple Maps, and notify the store when they’ve arrived in a designated Drive Up parking space—all without touching their phone.

In addition to streamlining Drive Up orders, Target has recently added more services within its app, including the ability to initiate returns and place Starbucks orders for pickup.

This partnership between Apple and Target, which began in 2021, has grown significantly. Target doubled its Apple retail presence in many stores, and plans are underway to continue expanding these collaborative efforts into 2024.

This new CarPlay integration is just another step in making Target a tech-forward shopping destination, with convenience and customer service at the forefront.
