According to Apple, any product that was discontinued for sale more than 5 years and less than 7 years ago is considered vintage.
Whereas, the iPhone 6 Plus was already considered an obsolete product before the iPhone 6. The reason for this was that Apple continued to sell the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 longer after completely stopping the iPhone 6 Plus .
Both the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus were introduced with iOS 8 in September 2014. The devices were retired in 2019 with the release of iOS 13, which required the iPhone 6s or later.
Despite this, Apple continues to provide security patches for devices running iOS 12, which includes not only the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, but also the iPhone 5s.
