Developers introduced Kimi to the iOS App Store as a vision test app, but it turned out to be an app for pirating movies. The iPhone app managed to bypass Apple's review team and made it into the top 10 of the best free entertainment apps.
It entered the store as a vision test app
Kimi entered the App Store as a vision test app, but when it was downloaded and installed, it opened an interface where movies and TV shows could be watched illegally. The App Store description mentioned comparing two pictures as a vision test and playing games, but none of these features were available in the app. The app focused on pirated content, offering the best movies, games, recommendation lists and even monetization ads.
In the store since September!
Apple has removed the app from the App Store since September and it is no longer available. The app's developers didn't bother to create a custom interface to hide it. It is not known how this app passed the App Store review team. This is Apple's second recent app store incident. Previously, an app with the same name was released that mimicked the popular password management app LastPass.
