A new leak from frequent source Maijin Bu on X.com suggests that the anticipated iPhone 16 Pro may feature a dark gold color, rather than the previously rumored brownish "desert titanium" option. The leaked photo shows four color samples—white, black, gray, and a deep, discreet gold. This dark gold color is said to be more refined than the bronze-like shade that has been circulating in earlier leaks.

The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are expected to continue using titanium as the primary body material, following the trend set by the iPhone 15 Pro lineup. The new gold shade appears to be a sophisticated alternative, potentially replacing the current blue titanium color.

Earlier photos from leaker Sonny Dickson depicted the iPhone 16 Pro in white, black, gray, and a brownish tone, which had been referred to as "desert titanium." However, Bu's recent leak suggests that this brown tone may actually be a darker gold, offering a more elegant finish.

While previous rumors had suggested a "rose gold" or "rose" option, it's becoming increasingly likely that the fourth color in the lineup will be this dark gold variant.

Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 16 lineup at its September event, alongside new Mac and iPad models, updated AirPods, and the latest software updates.
