New iPhones, Apple Watch go on sale
Three new iPhone models -- iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max– have gone on sale from September 16. The Apple iPhone 14 Plus will go on sale starting October 7.
The Apple iPhone 14 series price starts at Rs 79,900. The base storage in all the models is 128GB. The max storage in non-Pro models is 512GB, while Pro models have 1TB as max storage capacity. While Apple has retained the pricing of non-Pro models in India, the company has increased the prices of Pro models (iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max) by Rs 10,000.
The iPhone 14 Plus starts from Rs 89,900 while the iPhone 14 Pro starts from Rs 129900. The iPhone 14 Pro Max comes at a starting price of Rs 139900.
Of the three new Apple Watches launched, two Apple Watch Series 8 and Apple Watch SE, went on sale on September 7, while the most-premium new Apple Watch, Apple Watch Ultra will go on sale September 23. AirPods Pro 2 will also go on sale on September 23. The Apple Watch SE starts at Rs 29,900 while the Apple Watch Series 8 starts at Rs 45,900. Apple launches iOS 16 for the iPhone: Here are the features that bring big changes for iPhone users
After much waiting, Apple has released the latest iteration of iOS for iPhones. The new version brings a major change to the lock screen, among several other additions and improvements.
Until now, the lock screen on iPhones used to be pretty boring with nothing to play around with. But with iOS 16 things are changing. In iOS 16, one can pick the different pictures, font styles, colours for lockscreen. Also, widgets come to the lock screen, similar to how it appears on Apple Watch. Further, one can have multiple lock screens and even attach them to a specific Focus.
Instead of showing up at the top, notifications in iOS 16 appear at the bottom of the screen. Infosys gives warning to employees on moonlighting
The Indian IT industry is cracking down on moonlighting. Just weeks after Wipro chairman Rishad Premji described moonlighting as "cheating - plain and simple", Infosys has sent a stern warning email to employees. In the letter sent from HR, Infosys has made it clear that moonlighting is not allowed according to the employees' code of conduct, and that any violation will lead to disciplinary action which may include termination of employment.
Moonlighting refers to the practice of working on a second job or multiple other work assignments during normal business hours/outside business hours. iQoo Z6 Lite 5G smartphone with Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 SoC launched in India: Price, offers and more
iQoo launched its latest budget 5G smartphone -- iQoo Z6 Lite 5G in India. It is the world's first smartphone to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 Processor and it runs Android 12 operating system. The 5G-enabled smartphone sports a 50MP main camera.
iQoo Z6 Lite 5G features a 6.58-inch full HD+ display with 1080x2408 pixels resolution. The smartphone comes in two RAM and storage variants–4GB+64GB and 6GB+128GB–priced at Rs 13,999 and Rs 15,499 respectively. The smartphone can be purchased in Stellar Green and Mystic Night colour options. It can be purchased online from Amazon.in starting September 14. Adobe makes one of its biggest-ever acquisitions, buys rival for $20 billion
Software company Adobe is buying online design company Figma in an approximately $20 billion cash-and-stock deal. Figma, founded in 2012, allows those who design interactive mobile and web applications to collaborate through multi-player workflows, sophisticated design systems and a rich developer ecosystem.
The companies said that Figma's web-based, multi-player capabilities will accelerate the delivery of Adobe's creative cloud technologies on the web, making the creative process more productive and accessible to more people. San Jose, California-based Adobe sells software for creating, publishing and promoting content, and managing documents.
Google scraps next-gen Pixelbook along with the team building it
Google has cancelled the next iteration of the PixelBook laptop and disintegrated the team working on it, as per a report by The Verge.
The Verge reports, citing a person familiar with the matter, that the next-gen PixelBook laptop was in the final stages of development and would have been launched in 2023. However, the plans to launch it have been cancelled due to internal cost-cutting at Google. The team working on the PixelBook has reportedly been transferred to other projects.
Google first announced the PixelBook in 2017, and two years later, the company announced a much more affordable PixelBook Go. While the company has now reportedly backed out of the segment, Rick Osterloh, leading the hardware team at Google, said to The Verge that the company will continue to make Pixelbooks in the future.
