According to Ross Young , who is known as a display industry consultant , it seems unlikely that Apple will incorporate Face ID components into the iPhone display until 2025.
Young: Under-screen Face ID, early 2025
Young previously said that Apple will release the first iPhone model with under-display Face ID in 2024, but now says there will be a delay (early 2025) due to sensor problems. This means that the first model where Face ID is hidden under the screen may be the iPhone 17 Pro . By the way, a Korean publication recently claimed that under-screen facial recognition technology will be introduced with the iPhone 16 Pro .
Full screen design not expected
Meanwhile, AppleiPhone 14 ProIt is said that the special notch (dynamic island) for iPhone models will not be limited to Pro models in the iPhone 15 series. When the under-screen Face ID technology comes to iPhones , dynamic island will remain as an optional software feature. So, will Apple hide the front camera as well?
