A week after Apple released the iOS 16.1 beta 2 update, it also released the iOS 16.1 beta 3 update for developers.

Apple continues to rapidly release the latest versions of iOS 16 for developers. The company, which made the official version available to everyone in the past weeks, released iOS 16.1 beta 2 and a week later iOS 16.1 beta 3 update for developers.

The update, which includes battery indicator, Clean Energy Charging feature and improvements for many applications, also brings new features. Here 's what's new in iOS 16.1 beta 3 .

IOS 16.1 BETA 3 INNOVATIONS

  • Live Events: Live Events helps you follow what's happening in real time directly from your Lock Screen;
  • Live Events API : Follow an ongoing sports match or track the progress of your journey or order with just a glance. Browse Live Events from your favorite third-party apps with the new developer API ;
  • Apple Wallet app can be deleted: iOS 16.1 now allows users to delete Wallet app for the first time. As you'd expect, deleting the Wallet app means you won't be able to use a number of different features, including Apple Pay, Apple Cash, and Apple Card.
  • Item support: Matter is a new smart home connectivity standard that will enable compatible accessories to work together seamlessly across platforms;
  • iCloud Shared Photo Library: A new way for families to seamlessly share photos with a separate iCloud library where up to six users can collaborate, contribute and enjoy. Users can choose to share existing photos from their personal archives, or by a start date or by the people in the photos.
  • Clean Energy Charging: Clean Energy Charging aims to reduce the iPhone's carbon footprint by optimizing charging times for when the grid uses cleaner energy sources
  • Battery percentage for more iPhones : After first launching late in the iOS 16 beta cycle, the battery percentage icon is now also available on iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 12 mini, and iPhone 13 mini.

Developers can update their iPhones to iOS 16.1 beta 3 by going to the Settings app and selecting General, then Software update. Apple has also released new developer profiles that can be installed on iPhone 14 devices as well.
