Mobile phones and tablets have smaller screens than TVs, leaving less space for graphics and controls, so you may need a game controller. However, third-party controllers are nothing new to Apple. Currently, both PlayStation’s DualSense and Xbox’s wireless controllers can be paired with an iPhone or iPad. First, make sure your Joy-Cons are charged and ready to use. If not, simply plug it into your Nintendo Switch while charging on the dock. Once your Joy-Cons are charged and ready to use, slide them off the console to:
2. Now go to Settings > Bluetooth on your iPhone or iPad.
1. First, press and hold the black pairing button on the top of the Joy-Con until the green light starts flashing back and forth. This means the Joy-Con is now in pairing mode.
3. Scroll down to find your Joy-Con under Other Devices. You will see Joy-Con (L) or Joy-Con (R) depending on which Joy-Con is currently paired.
4. Finally, tap the Joy-Con option to pair. Repeat this process for other Joy-Cons as needed.
Once your Joy-Cons are paired, you can navigate to games that support third-party controllers such as Minecraft, Among Us, Call of Duty and more to play with your newly paired Joy-Cons. Not all mobile games support both Joy-Con controllers at the same time, so you only need to pair one. To unpair your Joy-Cons, go to Settings > Bluetooth, tap the blue information icon, and tap Unpair.
