Hidden QR code under the screen
There are many QR codes on parts of the iPhone. These codes help Apple find more details about the origin of the components, but surprisingly, there is even a hidden QR code on the iPhone's screen . Barcodes are engraved on the glass of the iPhone at different stages of production . Apple uses it to track and minimize defects on the production line. These codes are the size of a grain of sand and, as expected, can only be seen with special equipment.

The codes precisely allow Apple to track precisely how many glass protection units its Chinese suppliers Lens Technology and Biel Crystal produced and how many defective units they threw away during the manufacturing process.

On some iPhone models (such as iPhone 12), the QR code is located right above the front speaker. On newer iPhone models, this code is laser-etched into the black frame at the bottom edge of the screen . It is said that this type of barcode is difficult to develop. In fact, laser engraving of the code on the glass in the first units reduced the durability of the screen, and in drop tests, almost all of the cracks in the glass occurred in the area where the QR code was placed. Engineers had to develop new techniques using ring light microscopic lenses. As a result, Apple's suppliers have thrown away fewer glass covers since these codes were implemented. As a result, Apple has saved hundreds of millions of dollars a year .
