Samsung showcased its inaugural smart ring, the Galaxy Ring, at MWC, sharing some crucial features while many details remained unknown. New insights have now been revealed about which devices the Galaxy Ring will support, its battery sizes, and its weight. In an interview with CNET, it was confirmed that the Galaxy Ring, besides offering a battery life ranging from 5 to 9 days, will have battery sizes confirmed to vary depending on the model. The smallest model will feature a 14.5 mAh battery, while the largest will have a 21.5 mAh battery. As for weight, the smallest models will weigh 2.3 grams, and the largest models 2.9 grams, marking the Galaxy Ring as one of the lightest options in the smart ring market, significantly lighter than its competitor, the Oura Ring, which weighs between 4 to 6 grams depending on the size.

Moreover, the compatibility factor also plays a significant role. Samsung indicates that the Galaxy Ring is primarily designed to be used in conjunction with a Galaxy Watch, allowing the two devices to share measurements for more detailed results based on their best features.

For those unaware, the Galaxy Ring, through its sensors, will be capable of tracking heart rate, SpO2, steps, exercise, and sleep, with the collected health data being transferred to a connected phone. While Samsung is working to support all Android users, there seems to be no effort to make it compatible with iPhone users.
