Apple has been widening the gap between the basic and Pro iPhone models for some time now. In particular, the difference between the basic and Pro models of the iPhone 14 is significantly large. It seems that Apple will continue to maintain this difference, as new reports say that the iPhone 15 will not have two important features in its standard models .
Standard iPhone 15s still lack these features
As it is known, with the iPhone 14 Pro series, LTPO screens with ProMotion technology , which support variable refresh rates between 1 Hz and 120 Hz, were offered to users. Along with the ProMotion display, the more advanced and less power-consuming always-on display (AOD) feature also took its place in high-end iPhones. However, the latest report shows that the standard iPhone 15 models will not have LTPO displays.
The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus without LTPO display will not benefit from ProMotion technology and Always On Display again as a result . However, it is stated that Apple has sent the necessary specifications to its suppliers and will begin mass production soon.
Earlier, well-known display analyst Ross Young had claimed that all models in the iPhone 15 series will support Dynamic Island, but will not have LTPO panels on standard models due to production scale restrictions. Recent reports corroborate Ross' previous claims.
