Apple is preparing to make a major update in the coming days.
With the update, Apple will announce many features such as the digital whiteboard app Freeform, two new widgets for the lock screen, and improved data protection for iCloud.
Here's what's new in iOS 16.2:
APPLE MUSIC KARAOKE
With Apple Music, users can now sing karaoke.
With the update, iPhone users will be able to sing solo as well as duet with the original artist.
ADVANCED DATA PROTECTION
With the iOS 16.2 update, the number of iCloud data categories protected with end-to-end encryption will be increased.
With end-to-end encryption, Apple will offer Enhanced Data Protection for message backups, photos, notes, reminders, voice memos and more.
FREEFORM
Freeform is a digital whiteboard application where you can work creatively with your friends or colleagues.
The app will offer an endless canvas on which you can draw and add sticky notes, text, shapes, photos, PDFs and more.
It's available for Mac, iPad, and iPhone.
Apple TV
With Apple TV, NBA (American Basketball League), Premier League and MLB (American National Baseball League) matches can be watched live on your lock screen or Dynamic Island on iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro Max.
HOUSE
With this update, the reliability and efficiency of communication between smart home accessories and Apple devices will increase.
In addition, the performance of the application, bug fixes and improvements will be made.
LOCK SCREEN
With iOS 16.2, two new widgets will be added to the lock screen as sleep and medicine reminders.
With the sleep widget, your sleep data will be displayed. The medicine widget will provide reminders and quick access to your schedule.
OTHER FEATURES
- Multiplayer games can be played with the people you are on a FaceTime call with SharePlay support in Game Center.
- Collision Detection optimizations on iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models.
- News articles in Weather will display information about the weather in that location.
- Improved search in Messages will let you find photos based on their content, such as dogs, cars, people or text.
- AirDrop now automatically returns to Contacts after only 10 minutes to prevent unwanted requests from receiving content.
- Turning Hide IP Address off will allow iCloud Private Relay users to temporarily disable a particular site's service in Safari.
- Fixed issues that caused some notes to not sync with iCloud after updates.
