Cardiologist Prof. Dr. Bülent Görenek explained the health effects of Apple Watch's heart rate tracking and irregularity detection with an example from his own life.

Saying that the Apple Watch of his wife, who is a doctor like him, gave an "irregular heart rhythm" warning, Görenek stated that they performed a more comprehensive technique and the hyperthyroid problem was noticed.

Custom stated that some symptoms that even physicians may not notice at first can become visible thanks to the Apple Watch. Saying that regular monitoring is very important in the detection of problems related to heart health, Görenek added that Apple's smart watch makes this possible and that he recommends an Apple Watch to his patients who are financially eligible.

Various Apple Watch models released in recent years, including the latest Apple Watch Series 8 and Watch Ultra, have various features such as blood oxygen level measurement and EKG. In addition, heart rate measurement has been among the main features of the Apple Watch for years. With the help of these features, Apple collects important data with the circulation system. Thanks to these data collected while exercising, sleeping or resting, it is possible to have an idea about general health.

It is possible to see data related to some health features such as heart rate measurement, blood oxygen level, sleep directly on the screen of Apple's smart watch. The Health app on the connected iPhone makes it possible to organize your important health information, keep track of your data, and access it from a central and secure location. Thanks to this application, you can share your health information with the people you want, track your medications or vitamins, examine your sleep stages and track your various health metrics.

You can check your heart rate at any time through the Heart Rate section in the Health application; You can see data about resting, walking, training, post-workout heart rates during the day and your heart rate at the end of the Breathing session, or you can measure your Heart Rate whenever you want. Once you open the Heart Rate app on your Apple Watch, tap Current to see your instant heart rate, or Resting Heart Rate for your heart rate for the day, or Average while Walking.

Sleep tracking with Apple Watch

With Apple's smartwatch, the Sleep app, it's possible to create bedtime plans and relaxation times to help achieve sleep goals. The smart watch also allows to see the duration of REM, Superficial and Deep sleep phases.

It became possible with watchOS 9 to see sleep stages. Thanks to the signals received from the accelerometer and heart rate sensor, the smart watch can detect when users have entered the REM, Superficial or Deep sleep phases.
