Apple Watch's Fall Detection feature is said to have saved at least two lives. The Fall Detection feature reportedly works in two emergencies in the US states of Minnesota and Ohio. As it will be remembered, the Emergency SOS feature on the iPhone 14 series has also saved the life of a group of mountaineers.
Fall Detection saves lives
According to the reports, it is reported that in the first incident , an Apple Watch user was hit by a vehicle in Minnesota and then fled from the scene . The Apple Watch, on the other hand, detected the crash using its Fall Detection feature and dialed 911 . Apple Watch also reported the situation to the family of Michael Brodkorb, who was hit by the vehicle. "This is definitely a life-saving tool," said Brodkorb, who sustained injuries to his ribs and tailbone . It is said that Brodkorb is in the process of recovery and Apple CEO Tim Cook e-mailed him to wish him a speedy recovery.
In another incident , 83-year-old William Fryer lost his balance and collapsed on the walkway. Sensing this drop, the Apple Watch called the emergency services and also alerted the old man's daughter. According to the reports, it was determined that it was a large blood clot that caused Fryer to fall . Fryer had the clot removed and said he was grateful the Apple Watch was able to call for help. Meanwhile, Fall Detection on Apple Watch can be enabled by opening the Apple Watch iPhone app, going to Emergency SOS and turning on the Fall Detection option.
