Apple is set to enhance the Apple Vision Pro experience with the release of a second short film from its "Prehistoric Planet Immersive" series, specially crafted for Apple Vision Pro users. This announcement follows the initial launch of the Apple Vision Pro in February, which introduced users to a selection of Immersive Video experiences. Unlike traditional 3D movies, these are 180-degree 3D videos shot in 8K, offering an unparalleled depth and realism, and stand apart from the "Spatial Video" that users can generate using the headset or the iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max.
The first film in the "Prehistoric Planet Immersive" series presented viewers with an engaging narrative featuring pterosaurs encountering young T-Rexes along a rugged ocean coastline. Continuing with the prehistoric theme, the upcoming film, approximately six minutes in length like its predecessor, weaves the story of a curious baby triceratops discovering the essence of family bonds within the depths of an ancient forest.
A teaser of this eagerly awaited Immersive Video is currently accessible through the TV app on the Apple Vision Pro, stirring excitement among users. This release marks only the second Immersive Video unveiled by Apple since the Vision Pro made its debut, with the previous release being a five-minute "highlight reel" showcasing the best moments from the 2023 Major League Soccer season.
The original assortment of Immersive Videos available at launch included four short films: "Adventure," "Wild Life," "Prehistoric Planet Immersive," and "Alicia Keys: Rehearsal Room," alongside an interactive immersive experience titled "Encounter Dinosaurs." With these immersive experiences, Apple continues to push the boundaries of virtual reality, offering users a unique and engaging way to explore the world and beyond from the comfort of their homes.
