MacOS Ventura introduced a new System Preferences menu, and now, with the upcoming macOS 15 update, users can expect further refinements in design and layout.

Favorites Front and Center

In macOS Ventura, Apple renamed the System Preferences app to System Settings, aligning it more closely with the Settings app on iPhone and iPad. With macOS 15, this menu is rumored to be reorganized based on the settings users access most frequently. For instance, sections like Software Update and Storage will likely be prioritized at the top, catering to users' most common needs. Sections like Notifications and Sound, which see fewer changes, may be moved further down. Additionally, Apple ID will be rebranded as Apple Account.

Design Tweaks in System Apps

Apple is also reportedly planning to redesign the Siri menu bar icon, opting for a simpler, black-and-white icon in place of the current colorful one. Furthermore, the Calculator app will adopt a design similar to its iOS counterpart, offering a more cohesive experience across devices. Expect minor design adjustments in the Safari browser as well.

When Will macOS 15 Be Unveiled?

Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference is set to take place on June 10, where macOS 15, along with iOS 18, watchOS 11, and other operating system updates, will likely be introduced. Developers can anticipate the release of the iOS 18 developer beta shortly after the event, giving them a glimpse of the new features and functionalities to come.
