Apple has expanded its Business Connect service, which launched in 2023, to include businesses that don’t have a physical address. Previously limited to companies with retail locations, the service now allows online-only and home-based businesses to take advantage of Apple's powerful ecosystem to promote themselves across Apple Maps, Siri, Spotlight, and Wallet.
By registering for Apple Business Connect, companies can submit their logos, images, and business information through a simple form, helping them showcase their brand to over a billion Apple users worldwide. As Apple’s Senior Director of Internet Software and Services Product, David Dorn, noted, the goal is to help businesses without physical stores to "create a brand that appears across the Apple apps people use daily."
New Branding Features
The update introduces a number of new branding features, such as Branded Mail and Tap to Pay on iPhone, both of which are available for registration now. Businesses can upload logos and images through Business Connect, and these will automatically appear as headers in Apple Mail when communicating with customers. For those using Tap to Pay, the company’s logo and name will display on the screen when transactions are processed via iPhone.
These features will become visible to customers when iOS 18.2 is released before the end of 2024, allowing firms to present a more personalized and professional appearance to their customers.
Business Caller ID Coming in 2025
Looking ahead to 2025, Apple will introduce Business Caller ID, enabling registered businesses to display their name and logo when calling customers, alongside the phone number. This feature will allow companies to add details such as specific departments, further personalizing customer interactions and enhancing trust.
Apple's expanded Business Connect service aims to help businesses of all sizes reach new customers and grow their brands, all while ensuring the information displayed to Apple users is accurate and trustworthy.
