Reasons for not using the iPhone 14 Mini
The iPhone 14 model series has one thing in common with all four variants with a display size of over six inches, but no iPhone 14 Mini was presented at the keynote as the successor model to the iPhone 13 Mini.
Two years ago, Apple heard the calls for an iPhone with a compact display format and released a corresponding model in 2020 with the iPhone 12 Mini. The popular form factor should not last long because the group has no plans to offer an iPhone 14 Mini.
Weak heel
Sales of the iPhone 12 Mini were below expectations and only achieved a five percent market share in the USA. According to Morgan Stanley , production was significantly reduced in favor of the iPhone 12 Pro. According to market data from CIRP, the successor model, the iPhone 13 Mini, only accounted for three percent of iPhone 13 sales.
This persistent weakness in sales of the "mini" iPhones likely prompted Apple to discontinue the actually practical form factor. In the current model series, the "Mini" has been replaced by an iPhone 14 Plus with a 6.7-inch display, a fast A15 Bionic processor, the latest functions such as car accident detection and a long battery life.
