Apple Watch 8 vs Apple Watch SE (2022)! Which one is the winner?

This year, Apple surprised by introducing 3 new smartwatches: Apple Watch 8, Apple Watch SE (2022) and Apple Watch Ultra. Considering the case dimensions, we can say that there are 5 new models. Of course, except the Ultra, they are sold as 2 variants, either GPS or GPS+Cellular.

As you can see in the table below, the two devices are quite close to each other. But there are some visible and invisible differences, from screen size to sensors. First of all, Apple Watch 8 has reduced screen bezels like its predecessor. The SE model, on the other hand, comes with slightly thicker bezels that we saw in the 6th generation.

However, both devices use LTPO OLED Retina panels, which can reach 1000 nits brightness (500 nits and above under the sun). But as a difference, the SE model has dimensions of 40 mm and 44 mm, while in the 8th generation we see 41 mm and 45 mm. So it's a little bigger. In addition, it uses sapphire glass, which is more shatter-resistant.

Both devices have the same S8 processor inside. On the health side, it should be noted that although they have the same function, there are renewed sensors in the 8th generation. In addition, the SE model does not have an ECG feature. Another important factor is that the low power mode is only on the Watch 8.
