Tech enthusiasts may need to exercise patience, as reports suggest that the eagerly anticipated new iPad Mini, featuring a revolutionary OLED screen, might not hit the market until 2026.

Despite the extended wait, there are promising developments on the horizon. According to ZDNet Korea via Naver, Samsung Display has embarked on creating a new display for the iPad Mini. Samples of this advanced OLED screen were reportedly sent to Apple in April, sparking speculation about a significant upgrade.

The OLED screen, if confirmed, would align the new iPad Mini’s display quality with that of the premium iPad Pro line. Samsung aims to begin mass production in the second half of 2025, potentially leading to an early 2026 release.

While ZDNet is a credible source, ZDNet Korea’s track record on such predictions remains uncertain. Nonetheless, other indicators suggest that the new iPad Mini might arrive sooner. Regulatory filings from October hinted at a potential launch, typically signaling an imminent release.

Given that the sixth-generation iPad Mini debuted in September 2021, a five-year gap seems unlikely for such a popular device. Fans of the iPad Mini can look forward to official updates as the rumored release date approaches.
