Apple has rolled out the third developer beta of visionOS 1.2 for its Apple Vision Pro headset. This latest update, identified by build number 21O5570d, follows closely on the heels of the second beta, which was released on April 16. The first beta made its debut on April 2.

The update appears to be minor, primarily addressing earlier issues such as FaceTime call synchronization and notifications interrupting some applications. These fixes build on the changes introduced in visionOS 1.1, which enhanced features including mobile device management, Contact Key verification, and various system-wide improvements ranging from StoreKit adjustments to enhancements in the EyeSight graphics.

Installing the visionOS 1.2 Beta:

Open Settings on your Apple Vision Pro. Navigate to General. Enable Beta Updates. Select visionOS Developer Beta to download and install.

Developers can also test the beta within Xcode using the visionOS simulator, providing a streamlined environment for app development and troubleshooting.

It's important for developers to note that once visionOS is updated to a beta version, there is no straightforward way to revert back to a stable release without a developer’s strap. Thus, AppleInsider advises that non-developers steer clear of this beta to avoid potential issues.

This update may not introduce groundbreaking features, but it underscores Apple's commitment to refining the user experience and ensuring the stability of its burgeoning AR platform.
