Kanye West, in collaboration with the digital music distribution service Fuga, has been distributing his music to major platforms like Apple Music, Spotify, and others. Fuga simplifies the distribution process, ensuring artists' music reaches a wide audience efficiently.

Despite previous arrangements, West decided to upload "Vultures 1" directly to Fuga. He leveraged the platform's automated distribution mechanisms, anticipating they would facilitate the album's release without direct approval.

Fuga, in a statement to Variety, disclosed, "Late last year, we were approached to distribute 'Vultures 1.' After careful consideration, we decided against it. Nonetheless, on February 9, 2024, a long-time client of Fuga circumvented our usual vetting process, submitting 'Vultures 1' via our automated systems, breaching our service terms."

Consequently, Fuga is coordinating efforts with its Digital Service Provider (DSP) partners and the involved client to ensure the removal of "Vultures 1" from their platforms. The company is taking steps to address this breach of their distribution agreements.

Attempts to obtain comments from Kanye West's public relations team regarding this situation have so far been unsuccessful, with no public response available across any platform. As of now, the album still appears on Spotify, though its removal appears to be a matter of when, not if.

Interestingly, while the album faces removal from major platforms, select singles from "Vultures 1" are still accessible on Apple Music. These tracks have been distributed through Label Engine, indicating the involvement of another music distribution service in the album's complicated release saga.

This incident marks the second major challenge for "Vultures 1" on streaming platforms. Previously, the track "Good (Don't Die)" was removed from streaming services after the estate of Donna Summer raised copyright infringement issues over the unauthorized use of a Summer track by West.

The copyright issue led to the track being pulled on February 14, highlighting ongoing legal and ethical challenges surrounding the album's release.

In addition to these controversies, Kanye West has been a figure of public scrutiny due to recent antisemitic statements. His interactions with technology have also drawn attention, including public frustrations over Apple Pay being disabled due to bank actions rather than technology issues, and an incident where he revealed a simplistic iPhone passcode during an Oval Office visit.

Despite these controversies, West's influence on the music industry remains undeniable. His album "Donda" broke Apple Music records in 2021, garnering over 60 million streams from Apple Music users, showcasing his enduring popularity and impact on the streaming landscape.
