As anticipation builds for Apple's iPhone 17 lineup, rumors continue to circulate about a new, slimmer model: the iPhone 17 Slim. According to analyst Jeff Pu of Haitong International, the iPhone 17 Slim will feature a 6.6-inch display, positioning itself as a replacement for the Plus model in the iPhone family.

Expected to launch in late 2025, the iPhone 17 Slim is rumored to be powered by the A19 chip, which will be built using TSMC's 3-nanometer process, similar to the A18 Pro in the iPhone 16 Pro. Along with the cutting-edge chip, the device is said to include 8GB of memory, though it falls short of the rumored 12GB that the Pro models could feature.

The slimline device will reportedly have a body made of aluminum, which is likely to make it significantly lighter than the titanium Pro models. However, Apple will need to take extra care to avoid any potential durability issues, such as the "bendgate" controversy from previous generations.

Camera specs are also making headlines, with Pu suggesting the iPhone 17 Slim will feature a single 48-megapixel rear sensor and a 24-megapixel front camera that supports Face ID. While the design is expected to be entirely new compared to previous models, Pu's note indicates that the focus is on creating a slimmer and more refined look.

Though Jeff Pu has a mixed track record when it comes to predicting Apple releases, his latest claims align with other reports and speculation about the iPhone 17 Slim, making this rumor one to watch. As 2025 approaches, consumers can expect more details to emerge about Apple's next innovative release.
