Apple’s iPhone 16 series is set to deliver significantly faster charging speeds with the switch to USB-C. During the "Glowtime" Apple Event on Monday, Apple confirmed that the MagSafe charging for the iPhone 16 range has been upgraded to 25W. It has now been revealed that wired charging is also getting a boost — up to 45W.

Leaked details from a Weibo post by ShrimpApplePro, and reports from the China Quality Certification Center, indicate that all iPhone 16 models can charge at 45W using a USB-C connection. This is a major upgrade from the iPhone 15 Pro models, which maxed out at around 25W.

Apple remains discreet about specific charging speeds for its devices, only stating that users can recharge their iPhone to 50% in 30 minutes with a 20W or higher adapter. However, with the iPhone 16’s increased power capability, users can expect even faster charging times, especially when using higher wattage chargers.

Additionally, Apple has also enhanced MagSafe charging for the iPhone 16 series, allowing it to charge wirelessly at 25W when paired with a 30W adapter, delivering a faster and more convenient charging experience.

The iPhone 16’s USB-C and MagSafe upgrades bring a substantial benefit to consumers, enabling quicker recharging times for those who rely on fast power-ups during the day.
