AD FRAUD APPS DISCOVERED
According to ShiftDelete's report on Bleeping Computer, there are some apps in the App Store that have managed to escape Apple's safety net. Researchers revealed that these apps make money by simply showing ads to iPhone and iPad users.
These adware spoofing popular apps were discovered by HUMAN's Satori Threat Intelligence team. The ad fraud, which researchers call "Scylla ," forms part of an adware campaign that Apple has wrestled with for a long time. Apple was first exposed to “Scylla” advertising practices in 2019.
Researchers said they have contacted Apple's security team and that the apps will soon be removed from the App Store.
