Apple has now classified the Home architecture update implemented with iOS 16.2 as a "serious problem", as reported by MacRumors . It was "added to an internal list of issues normally reserved only for widespread and notable issues, suggesting that the update caused widespread and systemic issues with users' HomeKit devices and settings."
Apple withdrew the update after a short time
Apple first unveiled the new Home architecture in June of last year, ironically promising a new, "more stable" structure and an improved HomeKit experience. Unfortunately, the opposite happened: A large number of Home app users reported that their HomeKit devices, scenes and setups stopped working after the update. The massive complaints led to Apple withdrawing the update after a short time. Now the problems have also been referred to internally, the home app has been put on an internal problem list and classified there as a "serious problem".
This is how MacRumors reports on this fact. It is not yet known when an updated update for the Home app will appear. If you have problems with the home update yourself, you can call up a support document that has now been published by Apple and try out the options.
