When Apple released its Vision Pro, the highly anticipated mixed-reality headset, it was met with awe, but also questions about its comfort and stability for extended use. While Apple’s Solo Knit Strap offers a lightweight solution, it left out a crucial element—an over-the-head strap for better support. Enter Belkin, the accessory maker known for high-quality additions, which has released a new Head Strap for Apple Vision Pro that fills this void.

Apple’s Oversight

At the time of the Vision Pro launch, a marketing image briefly showed a dual-strap system that Apple never made available. This design, combining the Solo Knit strap with an overhead support, hinted at the fact that the Vision Pro was heavier than some expected, and would benefit from additional support. Apple’s decision to omit this feature was puzzling, but now Belkin has stepped in with a solution.

Belkin’s Vision Pro Head Strap

Belkin's head strap is sleek and feels very much like something Apple would produce. The soft grey strap is a near-perfect match to the original Vision Pro's design, and its quality is immediately noticeable. The strap attaches easily to the Vision Pro’s existing setup, with each end featuring a plastic cover that slides over the speakers.

To install it, the Solo Knit Strap on the right side must be removed, and the left side requires the power cable to be detached—though it would have been more convenient if the power cable could stay connected without forcing a reboot every time it’s reattached. However, the position markers for the cable are a thoughtful touch, helping users identify the correct orientation.

The strap itself is adjustable with a hook and loop connector to tighten the fit around the head, providing additional stability and comfort. It improves long-wear sessions, especially for those using the Vision Pro for work or entertainment.

A Comfort Upgrade

While Belkin isn’t the only company offering a top head strap for the Vision Pro, its version is arguably the most Apple-like in terms of fit and aesthetics. The additional support makes the Vision Pro feel more stable and secure, which is particularly useful during prolonged usage.

Pricing and Availability

At $49.95, the strap isn’t cheap, but when you’ve already invested $3,499 in the Vision Pro, the cost for added comfort seems like a small price to pay. The strap is available for order now, though delivery may not arrive until December.
