Apple, which has gained a large share of the smartwatch market with the Apple Watch series, will appear with the Apple Watch Series 8 model next September with the new iPhones.
Apple, the leader in the high-end smartwatch market, wants to develop models with a fingerprint sensor this time.
New patent revealed
A new patent discovered by Patently Apple reveals Apple's new smartwatch concept.
Apple's new patent shows a fingerprint sensor built into the side of the device. As you know, the new iPad Air and iPad mini models come with a fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button.
It looks like Apple may adopt a similar design for the upcoming Apple Watch models.
Apple wants to change that. Apple's introduction of a fingerprint sensor in its smartwatches is likely to spur other smartwatch manufacturers to follow suit.
However, this innovation is not expected to be in the Apple Watch Series 8 models to be introduced in September.
The company will probably release the first Apple Watch models with a fingerprint sensor in 2024.
