In a bid to reclaim its share of the Chinese smartphone market, Apple has taken a drastic step by slashing prices for its iPhones, directly challenging Huawei's stronghold in the region. Facing stiff competition from Huawei, Apple has rolled out aggressive discounts on its iPhones across online retail platforms in China.

According to reports, the top-tier iPhone 15 Pro Max, previously priced at 9,999 yuan, is now available for purchase at 7,949 yuan, marking a whopping 20% reduction. Similarly, the 128GB iPhone 15 model has seen a significant price drop to 4,599 yuan, down by 23%. These discounts are available on official online stores like JD.com and Tmall until May 28.

Apple's move comes as a response to its declining sales performance in China, with reports indicating a 37% drop in sales in the first two months of the year. Despite being a leader in the market previously, Apple has slipped to the third position, with Huawei now taking the lead with a 69% increase in sales. The gap between Apple and Huawei has narrowed significantly, with competitors like Vivo and Honor closely following suit.

While Apple's price reduction strategy aims to reignite consumer interest and boost sales, it remains to be seen whether it will be enough to counter Huawei's dominance in China's fiercely competitive smartphone market. With Huawei continuing its upward trajectory, fueled by the recent launch of the highly anticipated Pura 70 series, the battle for market supremacy is far from over. Stay tuned for updates as the competition unfolds.
