Apple has managed to significantly improve the sound quality on the AirPods Pro 2 without the need for lossless audio support . Apple engineer Esge Andersen revealed some secrets about how it's done in a new interview.
Andersen, who works on the acoustics team at Apple, explained the new update by saying, “We aim to put an AirPods Max in everyone's pockets ,” and continued: “ When we talk about good sound, it's really all about how we move the air in the earpiece. This is kind of weird, because we're not talking about the housing or how the headset looks. We are talking about regulating the air flow inside. ”
There was apparently a specific focus on improving the high frequency response in the earpiece, but AirPods Pro 2 delivers both clearer highs and deeper, more precise bass. In addition, a fine adjustment is made at each volume level.
Apple has been developing AirPods wireless earbuds since 2016, and the launch of the first earbud ushered in a new wave of technology. Almost every manufacturer has a pair of wireless earbuds on sale right now. Although there is a lot of competition in this area, AirPods still remain the technology to beat, due to the high accuracy and superior response that AirPods Pro 2 offers.

Apple has previously said it may need to develop its own Bluetooth codec alternative to get its headphones and earbuds ready for lossless audio.
