This follows the successful implementation of the 5x optical zoom feature in the iPhone 15 Pro Max, which first introduced the tetraprism lens.
According to a report from The Elec, LG Innotek has secured an exclusive contract to provide the tetraprism lenses for the initial production run of the iPhone 16 Pro models. This initial stock is expected to represent over half of Apple's production of these devices by the end of 2024. Once the initial supply is sold, Apple plans to bring in additional suppliers, including Foxconn and Cowell, to meet ongoing demand and reduce production costs.
