Apple has released the fourth developer betas for watchOS 11.1, tvOS 18.1, and visionOS 2.1 as part of its ongoing testing process. These releases come after a brief delay, particularly for watchOS, which was temporarily pulled due to issues causing some devices to lock up.
The beta process for this series has been somewhat unique. Apple is testing two separate groups of operating systems—one set with Apple Intelligence (AI-powered enhancements) and another without it. This is due to an earlier testing period for iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1, which are focused on refining Apple Intelligence features.
The third betas for these operating systems arrived on October 1, but the watchOS 11.1 build was retracted on October 3 due to some models experiencing freezing issues. Now, with the fourth beta, developers can expect a more stable experience.
tvOS 18.1 moves to build number 22J5567a. watchOS 11.1 shifts to build 22R5569a. visionOS 2.1 is now on build 22N5567a.As is typical with early beta releases, Apple hasn’t disclosed specific new features or changes in these builds. Testers are advised to install the updates on secondary devices to avoid any potential data loss or stability issues.
