Apple has quietly released a second visionOS 2.1 release candidate (RC) just a day after the first, aimed at fixing a bug in Apple Music. Developers who received the original visionOS 2.1 RC on Monday reported an issue where songs and videos couldn't play, prompting the quick update.
The new RC, identified as build 22N581, addresses this issue and ensures a smoother experience for Apple Vision Pro users. Aside from bug fixes, visionOS 2.1 doesn’t introduce major new features, as Apple Intelligence integration is expected for the Vision Pro at a later date.
Apple’s rapid release cycle isn't new—recent betas for visionOS were also pushed quickly. However, there have been no major user complaints about issues during testing, suggesting that Apple is preemptively patching any minor problems that arise as it prepares for the platform's wider release.
The timing suggests Apple is on track for its larger operating system updates, expected around October 28. This includes the much-anticipated launches of iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1, all of which are set to introduce Apple Intelligence across devices.
