From a purely visual point of view, the Apple AirPods Pro 2 do not differ significantly from their predecessors. On the headphones themselves, Apple has slightly moved the built-in microphones and sensors (and made them 0.1 grams lighter) -- added some new features to the case in the form of speaker and lanyard openings. However, the tech giant from California promises exciting updates inside the popular model. We have summarized the most important functions of the new in-ear generation. New touch control panel on AirPod Pro 2 shaft allows volume control

For even better usability, Apple has worked on its touch control panel on the stems of the Apple AirPods Pro 2 and integrated a long-awaited function. While playback could previously only be paused and continued on the headphone shaft, the new version allows the volume to be adjusted directly on the headphone using a swipe gesture. A press on the bottom of the AirPods Pro is enough (as with the AirPods 3) to change the song or answer a call. In addition, Apple integrates the H2 chip into its new in-ears, which guarantees better sound processing, stronger active noise canceling and many other software upgrades. For example, the “3D audio” function has a customizable component, in which all owners of an iPhone with a new true-depth camera will be able to scan their ears and adapt the spatial sound experience individually to their hearing. Another small size eartips help to find the ideal fit for your own use.

Apple AirPods Pro 2 isolate 2x more noise than before

The Active Noise Canceling function (ANC) is stronger than ever thanks to the improved chip and can isolate twice as much noise as the previous model. The associated transparency mode adapts flexibly to the ambient noise – with the AirPods Pro, this setting still had to be made manually. Thanks to a new low-distortion amplifier and audio driver, AirPods Pro also deliver richer bass and crystal-clear sound across a wider frequency range. When it comes to software, Apple relies on Bluetooth 5.3 for the Airpods Pro 2, which opens up a multitude of new possibilities. Specifically, this means that the new Bluetooth function supports Bluetooth LE, a significantly more energy-efficient transmission type that not only sounds better, but also longer battery life (an additional 1.5 hours of playback time compared to the Apple AirPods Pro) and independent sound transmission for each individual AirPod guaranteed. For more flexibility when traveling, the AirPods Pro 2 can now also be charged with an Apple Watch charger in addition to the MagSafe, a Qi-certified charging mat or a Lightning cable. As with the 3rd generation AirPods, five minutes of charging in the case should allow for an additional hour of listening time.

Speaker and lanyard loop for AirPod Pro 2 case

The new Apple AirPods Pro 2 case is sweat and water resistant and features a new built-in speaker. As part of the "Find my" function, this helps to track down the headphones if they are lost. Because: The integrated case speaker makes itself felt thanks to loud tones, should the AirPods get lost in the depths of their own chaos. Also new: the opening for a lanyard loop, which makes it possible to attach various loops to the case to transport the AirPods Pro 2 even more conveniently and easily. Unfortunately, the matching strap is not included in the scope of delivery. If you would like to customize your case, you can now do so with a personal lettering or a selected Memoji engraving. Conclusion – for whom is the purchase worthwhile?

Even if audio experts waited in vain for the big coup with the new AirPods Pro 2, the new generation of Apple in-ears comes with some exciting upgrades. The new touch control panel makes everyday handling much easier. The built-in H2 chip, including richer sound, stronger active noise canceling and adaptive transparency mode, undoubtedly ensures even more music enjoyment and quieter phone calls. The new Bluetooth function for more energy-efficient transmission, the 3D audio function for a customized sound experience and the option of charging the AirPods Pro 2 with an Apple Watch charger for less cable clutter. The custom case with its speaker and mount openings is nice to have, but probably just a cooler gimmick at the end of the day.
